functions of Air vessel

 functions of Air vessel

Air vessels is basically a closed container designed to hold gases or fluids at a pressure different from the ambient pressure.

Air Vessels can theoretically be almost of any shape, but general used shapes are sections of spheres, cylinders, and cones.

These are generally made of high tensile strength material, which can bear high pressure upto 50 bar.

These are used in various application where stored energy of fluids are used. Some examples are braking system of Trains, Trucks etc. These are also used in boiler industries where high pressure air is used for compression.

For sphere shape, the mass of air vessel is

m=3/2 PV
